DESIGN & TEXTILES

Led by Sarah Johnston, the company produces a range of design-led luxury interior accessories for retail and wholesale markets under the brand name Marram Studio. Marram Studio's range of hand-printed textiles includes cushions, bags, purses, tea towels, wall art, baby t-shirts and other gifts.

Sarah splits her time between Marram Studio’s workshop in Glasgow and a design base in the Orkney Islands. The prints in the Marram Studio collection are inspired by nature, particularly flowers and plants - from Orkney’s beautiful wild flora to exotic hothouse blooms.

Marram Studio can provide lengths of fabric and bespoke work can be commissioned for relatively low runs. Sarah also produces textile and surface designs for sale to industry for a variety of applications.

The range of hand-printed textiles is sold through retail outlets, and at the Marram Studio online store

Working in collaboration with Cliff, Sarah has also launched a new web site called Thistle Art, selling a variety of canvas art prints based on Sarah and Cliff's digital art and photography. A full Thistle Art online store will be up and running in the next few months but in the meantime it is possible to order by email - go to www.thistleart.co.uk to see the initial range of prints available.
